Why funds are held, and when they are released

Pending versus available, the usual window, and where to see the exact release date.

A card payment is authorised instantly but settles later. Until it settles it shows as pending: it is yours, but it cannot be paid out yet.

The usual window is one to seven business days depending on the method, your country and your history. New accounts start at the longer end and shorten as the account establishes a record.

Every pending payment shows its own expected release date in the dashboard — you never have to guess or ask. Balances show pending and available separately for the same reason.

Holds can be extended for a specific payment if it triggers a risk or compliance check. If that happens we tell you which payment, why in general terms, and what would resolve it. Reserves, if your account has one, are separate and always shown with their reason and review date.
